Blizzard Confirmed That the Hammond Bug Is an Exploit

Blizzard confirmed not so long ago that the recently discovered feature that allows Hammond to rapidly boop other players and deals a lot of damage is a bug. They are working now on fixing it up.

More Info About the Whole Situation

Overwatch developers said a few days ago that they are working now on fixing the recently-discovered bug in a Hammond mechanic that allows this hero to do a significant amount of damage and boop players far away. They confirmed that the bug fix would be rolling out soon.

This exploit allows Hammond to reset his ability to boop while he is in a ball form multiple times, which potentially leads to double, triple, and more boops in one sequence. Some players are using third party software to use this exploit against their enemies, but it is also available while using a clean game client.

More About the Exploit Mechanic

Regularly, Hammond can use his boop technic just once when his speed increased for more than 15-teen meters per second. After the boop happened, he can boop them once again, until his speed will decrease, and he got his speed back. But, using this exploit, he can do it three and even more times.

In response to a Reddit post, one of the lead software engineers of the Overwatch, William Warnecke, said: "We've been digging into this since we first heard about it and are working on getting a fix out quickly."
