Head coach of the Brooklyn Nets left his position

After three seasons in a row at the place of head coach of Brooklyn Nets, Kenny Atkinson left his post. The team announced that their ways are "parted away by mutual agreement."

For the rest of this particular season, the coach assistant Jacque Vaughn will replace Kenny Atkinson at the position of the head coach.

The official statement

Sean Marks, general manager of the Brooklyn Nets, said in his official statement: "We discussed with Kenny the interests of the team, and mutually agreed, that it will be better to change the coach. This decision was hard for both of us, but we believe that it is necessary now."

"We highly appreciated all that Kenny did for Nets and all the Brooklyn community in general. Kenny, Laura, and all his family will always be the part of the Nets family, and we wish them only the best in the future," the statement continued. "He made a lot to develop the identity and culture, what the Nets became. That will helps us a lot in the next seasons."

Kenny Atkinson became the head coach of Nets in 2016. During his time in Brooklyn, the team got a record score of 118-190, which makes him the fourth in wins in the whole history of this franchise.

The current place of the Nets in the Eastern Conference is the seventh, with a total of 28-34. This Sunday team will face the Chicago Bulls.
