Football Recruit From the University of Louisville Killed in Orlando

According to the police statement on Saturday night in Orlando, one of the most promising football recruits of the University of Louisville, Dexter Rentz, was shot and killed.

The incident happened just after 11:00 p.m. Saturday. Dexter and three more persons were shot while just standing in front of the house. The details are still investigating," said Joe Capece, the Orlando Police Department Sgt.

More About the Shooting

"Investigators are not sure why did the gunplay start, but it seems like the primary target was one of Dexter's friends. We have not had any information about the suspect or suspects," said Capece on Sunday to press.

"Three other victims are now in the hospital, and it seems like their lives are safe," mentioned sergeant. "When the police arrived, two vehicles are already fled. We stopped both cars and found Dexter Rentz in one of them."

"By that time, we already know that he's gone, but we had to transport him to the local hospital where he was proclaimed dead. The driver of the other car was declared innocent and eliminated from the investigation," ended Capece.

Scott Satterfield, football coach of the University of Louisville, said in his Twitter: "We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Dexter Rentz."

"He was a truly great football player and a friendly and kind person. All our community will be missed him, and he will always be in our minds and hearts," ended Satterfield.
